For this episode of Yoga Teachers Talk @pipyogamentor talks to Senior Yoga Teacher and Menopause Yoga expert Alice Taylor.
Alice through her many years spent practicing yoga in Mysore India, received the direct authorisation of the Ashtanga yoga master Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (1915-2009) to pass on the Ashtanga yoga method. Fewer than 150 teachers worldwide received this authorisation within his lifetime.
Alice lives in London with her husband Charlie and started practicing yoga in the early 1990s, she has practiced with some of the worlds most respected and revered teachers and shares so many wonderful stories of her time with teachers such as Derek Ireland.
For this episode Alice shares honestly and openly about her journey into the menopause, the difficulty faced mentally and emotionally with navigating this phase, with no support from the health system and having to figure it all out alone. Her story is one we can relate to and learn from, as she is now passionate about sharing yoga and breath work to support all women through the menopause. She shares the joy of handstands and how they help during menopause and her struggles and passions as a yoga teacher.

For this episode of Yoga Teachers Talk @pipyogamentor talks to Yoga Teacher and Yoga teachers photographer Camille Marie Bieber.
Camille is a London based teacher, teaching in some of London's busiest yoga studios such as Indaba studios in Marylebone.
Camille is also well known for taking beautiful photographs, supporting those teaching yoga and working in wellbeing, to develop their business by capturing their personality and brand.
In this episode Camille shares openly and honestly about navigating a dual career and passion, the reality of teaching in a big city as well as diversity in the yoga space, and we discuss how we can do better with the language we use to create welcoming inclusive yoga spaces.

In this episode Kirstie shares openly her journey from divorce, punishing exercise and low self esteem to falling deeply in love with herself, her body and her passion to support other women to love unapologetically their bodies too. Her honesty is refreshing and her transformation story is moving, her wise and uplifting words show that being kind and in love with yourself is the key to loving life.

For this Episode of Yoga Teachers Talk @pipyogamentor talks to Senior Teacher and NHS Nurse Alan Grier.
Alan Grier is a highly experienced Vinyasa Yoga Teacher, Yoga Nidra Teacher and Tapasya Hot Yoga Teacher. He is based in London and teaches at the well known and respected Tri-Yoga Studios.
Alan has an Ashtanga background and spent time in Mysore India, he shares his experiences as an ashtanga practitioner dealing with ongoing injuries and how he developed his vinyasa practice to freedom from injuries with a rich varied journey through various lineages.
Alan has been teaching since 2001 and he shares his journey, from finding his first yoga class in South London to help with the physical and mental stresses and trauma of being a nurse working in a HIV and AIDS unit in the 1990's to finding teachers that supported him to become a teacher himself.
We talk openly and honestly about how the yoga industry has changed and some of the challenges yoga teachers face today compared to the industry 20yrs ago.

Charlie has a wealth of knowledge and in this episode we talk all things yoga tradition, teaching private 1:1 sessions, yoga business and yoga anatomy. There is so much we teachers can all learn from Charlie and this was a full and rich discussion.
